Welcome to St Mary’s Community Centre

We are a nonprofit organisation support by government funding and grants. Set up by a Voluntary Management Committee the centre opened in July 2011. We have a full time Manager on site and we are staffed by TUS and CE Scheme Employees. The centre is a state of the art Centre consisting of rooms and halls available to hire for a wide range of activities. Situated just off the Granard Road, Edgeworthstown N55 Cavan to Athlone and the N4 Dublin to Sligo is 5 mins drive away making us convenient to get to.

It provides a venue for our community to hold various events, meetings, training and education. Our main hall is used by our Schools for indoor training and games, concerts etc. We have hosted numerous events over the years such as fashion shows, talent shows, large sporting events, Community Late Late Show and even Weddings!

A trip down memory lane as tomorrow I finish up at the centre.

I joined St. Mary's Community Campus in June 2018 as a Sports Coordinator through an initiative funded by Sport Ireland.

It took a few months to find my feet, my first programme was a couch to 5km in August 2018. Over the years, we have had 100's take part in the various programmes.

Covid hit in March 2020 and everything came to a halt. Luckily we had Zoom and we continued some fitness classes online on a weekly basis. It felt like all progress that was made had went down the drain and it was a frustrating time but thankfully in early 2021, we resumed our activities and slowly but surely built things back up again and there are lots of programmes on offer and I encourage our local people to continue to support the various programmes and initiatives.

I would like to thank the committee of St. Mary's Community Campus for their support and trust in me over the last number of years and wish you continued success.

Thank to Longford Sports Partnership for all their support throughout my time at St.Marys.
To all the various staff I've worked with and to all the tutors that I have crossed paths with over the years.

Over the last nearly 6 years, I was lucky enough to meet people of all ages and abilities through the various programmes and initiatives and make some friends for life.
Unfortunately, we lost a few along the way that I would have worked very closely with over the years and I will forever remember each and everyone of them❤

For me, I move on to new pastures. I feel like I am leaving the country as between the studio and the centre, I've been working in Edgeworthstown for 11 years but I won't be too far away🙂

My last class with this group this morning🏋️‍♀️

This group has about 18-20 in it and have been so consistent with their workouts over the years.

It has been such a joy to teach this group twice a week for the last few years. The fittest bunch and the best crack and always up for a laugh.

Will miss you all dearly ❤
